What's New For the 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser?

The 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser is an eight passenger SUV designed to go anywhere, and we mean anywhere. This is a rugged vehicle that's meant for off-road adventures. The 2019 model is a member of the SUV's sixth generation that Toyota introduced in 2008, which means that the 2019 model is unchanged.

2019 Land Cruiser Trims and Configurations

Toyota is selling the 2019 Land Cruiser in just one trim, but that trim is fully loaded. The vehicle's list of equipment includes 18-inch wheels, automatic LED headlights, automatic high beams and running boards. It also comes with off-road gear that includes a locking center differential, a reduced-speed cruise control system, a decoupling stabilizer bar and hill start assist. Toyota also equipped the large SUV with tow hooks, an integrated tow hitch and a wiring harness.

The exterior of the 2019 Land Cruiser is sporty and streamlined. It has a sloped hood that blends seamlessly into the windshield and roof. The roof rails increase the usefulness of the vehicle while the grille and the headlights have that classic Toyota appeal.

Inside the SUV, Toyota included four-zone climate control, leather front seats that are heated and ventilated and split leather second-row seats. The steering wheel is heated too. It is also power-adjustable. Keyless ignition and entry along with a sunroof and a cooler box are other amenities that Toyota decided to add to the vehicle.

Toyota didn't skimp in the tech department. The Land Cruiser design team included a bunch of tech-based safety features in addition to a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a USB port and a wireless smartphone charging pad. It has voice controls, Bluetooth and a navigation system. You'll also appreciate the addition of a JBL sound system that has a satellite radio and a CD player. The only option with the 2019 Land Cruiser is a backseat entertainment system.

To make the vehicle an off-road king, the auto company developed the SUV on a rigid body-on-frame chassis, one that it has always used to manufacture the Land Cruiser. It may seem like the vehicle would deliver a stiff and bouncy ride, but Toyota managed to soften the interior to keep people comfortable during quick commutes to the grocery store and long road trips.

A Powerful Engine Built to Conquer

Toyota paired the engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The auto company also added a full-time four-wheel-drive setup to the vehicle, so you'll never have to wonder if you should activate the system. It will be in use during every drive. This does affect the gas mileage. In the city, the SUV gets 13 miles per gallon, and at highway speeds, it gets 18 miles per gallon for a 15 combined miles per gallon.
