What's New For the 2021 Toyota Prius?
The Toyota Prius continues its tradition of bringing many options to the table with exceptional value. This year, a new trim level joins the Prius lineup called the 2020 Edition. The new trim contains additional standard features and unique exterior styling cues that separate it from the others. The Prius also continues its strong history of performance by making all-wheel drive an available drivetrain on some trims. The Prius is produced in five trims this year, and each one gets more standard features than before. An expansive list of innovative driver-assist safety technology is now included across the Prius lineup.
2021 Prius Trims and Features
All five of the Toyota Prius trims have room for five adult occupants with comfortable seats and a spacious back row. The L Eco starts off the 2021 Prius family. This trim supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with a seven-inch infotainment display. It is also compatible with Amazon Alexa. All your belongings will fit easily in the base Prius, offering 50.7 cubic feet of space with the seats folded. The LE contains the base trim's amenities and adds more technology and safety features, including parking assist. Styling changes begin with the XLE, which upgrades to 17-inch alloy wheels. This trim adds some more luxury, too, including heated front seats finished with simulated leather upholstery. A wireless smartphone charging system is standard, and it comes with a convenient charge indicator light. The 2020 Edition, new this year, has a custom glove compartment and floor mats exclusive to this trim level. The line-topping Limited has adaptive front lights, integrated navigation, and a JBL sound system. It also gets a high-resolution touchscreen and a larger 11.6-inch display.

2021 Toyota Prius Horsepower
All trims get the same engine for 2021, a 1.8L four-cylinder gas/electric hybrid CVT. This engine offers a peak power output of 121 HP. Front-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain for most 2021 Prius trims, while all-wheel drive (AWD-e) is offered on select trims, including the LE and XLE. The all-wheel drive system is electronically controlled for convenience and predictability.
Toyota Prius Safety
Leading safety features are found on all trims of the 2021 Toyota Prius. A standard safety feature offered across all Prius models is the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, a safety package that includes lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and road sign assist. Additional features such as blind spot monitoring and park assist come standard when choosing trims that follow the L Eco. An advanced airbag system is standard as well.
