What's New For the 2020 Toyota Prius?
In 2020, the Toyota Prius primarily gets changes and updates to its interior. Now, you can get the Prius at the base level with more standard safety technology than before. The latest Toyota Prius now comes with the company's Safety Connect system and the Toyota Safety Sense package that includes a cluster of helpful driver-assist safety amenities, including forward-collision avoidance and lane-keep assist. Moving up to a higher trim line, more safety features are either standard or optional.
Along with its expanded collection of safety amenities, this year's Prius gets a more advanced and refreshed infotainment system as well. This year, all trim levels of the Prius are equipped with a seven-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Smartphone compatibility is another highlight of all trims, and some trims get wireless charging. Along with the new updates, the Prius still stands out for its class-leading fuel economy and its comfortable, quiet, and spacious cabin. Large windows provide exceptional visibility, while a precise handling system makes it easy to drive the Prius around town.

Which Trims & Features are Available in 2020?
Consumers can choose from up to six trim levels of the 2020 Toyota Prius. The base trim level is called the L Eco. Its standard features include comfortable seats and a seven-inch entertainment portal with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This system also supports Amazon Alexa. Additionally, you'll get dual USB charging ports in the back row for convenience. Numerous advanced safety aids are included, and you'll also get standard 15-inch alloy wheels with matching wheel covers and tires.
The second trim in the lineup, called the LE, gets additional safety technologies, including rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring. This trim gets nearly 25 feet of cargo space. The XLE includes larger 17-inch alloy wheels with matching tires. It also gets rain-sensing intermittent windshield wipers. Inside, its cabin features heated SoftTex seating with power-adjustable front seats. The driver's seat moves in eight ways, while the passenger's seat moves in four. Wireless charging is included.
The Limited trim gets a premium JBL sound system with a high-resolution background, Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Its exterior includes adaptive front lighting. The LE with all-wheel drive features an electronically-controlled all-wheel-drive system with an on-demand four-wheel drive. It gets 15-inch alloy wheels, accent lights, and integrated LED fog lights in the front. The XLE has on-demand all-wheel-drive technology and a driver's seat that moves in six ways. A heated SoftTex steering wheel is standard on this trim level.
A Perfect Blend of Power and Fuel Efficiency
All trim levels of the 2020 Toyota Prius get the same engine and mechanical system. They are all driven by a hybrid gasoline and electrical system. The gasoline engine is a 1.8L with four cylinders. Independently, it produces up to 96 HP. When combined with the electric motor, it has a total power output of 121 HP. All-wheel drive is standard on some trims and available on others.
Safety Features in the Forefront for 2020
Plenty of safety features are found in this year's Prius. Dual-stage airbags are standard, as are the Toyota Safety Sense package of driver-assist safety aids, traction control, and vehicle stability control.
