* A slew of trim levels and drivetrain options, combined with high customer-satisfaction numbers, make a strong case for the Highlander. Source: KBB.com
* Refined interior appointments; quiet, compliant ride; stellar V6 with new six-speed transmission; seating for eight; fresh technology offerings. Source: Edmunds
* The all-new 2014 Highlander was redesigned with excitement in mind. From the larger grille and dramatic front end to the aerodynamic roof rails, Highlander gets you there in style. Even the wheels have been redesigned! Highlander Limited gets a new look with 19in. Chromtec wheels, XLE and LE Plus have unique machined-face 5-spoke alloys, and LE gets a new 18in. 5-spoke alloy wheel. These aren't your typical roof rails. Highlander's Chromtec roof rails are integrated, which means when you aren't using them to carry your accessories, they still look sleek. And because they are integrated, they add to the aerodynamics and minimize the noise coming from overhead. Highlander's roomy interior gives you enough space to seat up to eight people and provides more comfort along the way with reclining third-row seats or with the available second-row captain's chairs, Highlander comfortably seats seven. Powering the Highlander is a choice of 3 different engines; a 4-cylinder engine squeezes the most performance and surprises with 185hp and 184 lb.-ft. of torque, yet still manages an EPA-estimated 20MPG city and 25MPG highway; the available V6 engine generates 270hp and 248 lb.-ft. of torque, offering up to an EPA-estimated 19 MPG city and 25 MPG highway for FWD models; and the Hybrid Synergy Drive system in Hybrid Limited combines an efficient 3.5L V6 and an electric motor to produce 280 hybrid system net hp. At the same time, Hybrid Limited offers an impressive EPA-estimated 27 city and 28 highway MPG. Available features include a navigation system standard on XLE and Limited trims. Entune Audio with Intelligent Touch controls comes standard on Highlander and with available navigation you get, SiriusXM Radio, HD Radio, Entune App Suite and a 6.1in. or 8in. touch-screen display. Blind Spot Monitoring and a standard Backup Camera add to the list of available safety features. Source: The Manufacturer Summary

  • All is Aweome but the Voice Recognition/NAV a ZERO

By bethereornot on Monday, April 09, 2018

    5.0
The ride, power and technology is awesome. But like I said in the Summary, I give the the Navigation and the Voice recognition a big fat 0 out of 10. I thought Siri could be bad, this takes bad to another level. NAV never takes the route that my phone gives me, not even close. My brother and I both bought a new Toyota about a week apart and the experience is the same for both of us, so much we joke about it on the phone because he lives 500 miles away. We will be in our SUV and say listen to this. Directions to main st Columbus Ohio, it will come back and say finding a doughnut shop closest to you (just an Example) We have both trained and retrained the system but owell we both have smart phones to rescue us and that isnt why either of us bought our SUV. I would buy it again even with the short comings of some of the techy stuff.
  • Front seat headrests force head too far forward

By Ken on Friday, June 21, 2019

    4.0
This is our 2nd Highlander Hybrid and we are keeping our 2008. My gripe is with the front seat headrests that force one's head too far forward and are not adjustable like the Subaru's. The 2008 is comfortable, but the 2019 is not because of the headrest. It's especially a problem now that I have sciatica and should keep my back straighter and my hip rotated a bit forward.
  • Just a couple things, seats & carpet...

By Sally A. on Sunday, June 16, 2019

    4.0
I love my Highlander with the exception of the seats that are quite hard and not comfortable for more an hour long ride. Another big issue is the carpet...or should it be called "felt". The carpet seems substandard and is virtually impossible to vacuum clean. I think for the cost of the car, $40,000+, the carpet shouldn't be cheap. I like to have a clean car so vacuuming the dirt and grass off the carpet shouldn't be so difficult!! Also, the car should come with 3rd row floor mat as standard equipment.
