2018 Toyota Sienna Arrives With New Standard Safety Tech

2018 Toyota Sienna

Thinking of upgrading to the latest iteration of the Swagger Wagon? The best-selling minivan is in hot demand thanks to its long list of awesome features, which now includes several active safety technologies!

Standard across the lineup, Toyota Safety Sense adds even more protection to the best-selling minivan, helping drivers to stay focused on the road and reducing the risk of collision. Plus, this package also lifts some of the stress off of everyday driving, making life a little bit easier for mom and dad drivers.

The Toyota Safety Sense package includes four different systems: Automatic High Beams, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and Pre-Collision System With Pedestrian Detection. Each system utilizes radar and camera technology in order to monitor the driving environment and make decisions accordingly. Here’s a short breakdown of what each system does:

  • Automatic High Beams: Automatically switches from low beams to high beams, or high beams to low beams, when appropriate
  • Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: Maintains a set speed and distance from the vehicle in front of you, adjusting your speed as needed to ensure a safe following distance
  • Lane Departure Alert: Monitors lane markings and alerts driver if they start to drift or swerve
  • Pre-Collision System With Pedestrian Detection: Determines whether the Sienna is at risk for a collision with another vehicle or a pedestrian and alerts the driver to take action; if driver fails to respond quickly, the system will apply the brakes

In addition to offering the latest driver-assist technologies, the new Sienna can also be had with a Bird’s Eye View monitor, which gives a 360-degree view of the vehicle’s surroundings. Visit our San Antonio Toyota dealer today to test these features and more!
